Construction Work Review
Project Duration: June 2019 - May 2022
Roles: Sr Project Manager, Director of Process Improvement
Client: PG&E
Project Overview:
The Construction Work Review Project was a comprehensive initiative that involved developing a custom database system, programming and architectural work, and overseeing software developers to ensure the successful verification and quality assurance of completed fieldwork. As the first project manager, I led the entire project from inception through completion, eventually training and handing off the project to a successor to ensure its continued success.

Key Contributions:
- Custom Database Development:
Architected and developed a custom database tailored to the unique needs of the work review process. The database was designed to efficiently manage and track the lifecycle of work submissions, incorporating advanced logic to monitor progress, identify issues, and optimize workflows. - Programming and Software Architecture:
Performed extensive programming and architectural work to build the system's backend, ensuring seamless integration of data analytics, tracking, and reporting functions. This included designing the system architecture, coding key components, and setting up automated processes to streamline the verification workflow. - Oversight of Software Development:
Led a team of software developers, overseeing the coding, testing, and implementation of the work verification system. Provided technical guidance, reviewed code, and ensured that all software development aligned with the project's goals and requirements. - Work Verification System Implementation:
Implemented a robust solution for verifying completed work through photos submitted by field crews. The system enabled internal teams to check submission completeness and allowed engineering teams to assess the quality of the work, ensuring compliance with project specifications. - Data Analytics and Reporting:
Developed unique tracking identifiers and categorization systems to monitor the lifecycle of individual work items. Refined the system to identify stale and stuck items, leading to significant improvements in efficiency and reduced project completion times. Comprehensive reporting tools were also developed to provide real-time insights into project progress and identify areas for improvement. - Database Logic and Process Diagrams:
Created complex diagrams outlining the database logic used to track work review submissions throughout their lifecycle. These diagrams were continuously updated as the project evolved, ensuring that the tracking process remained accurate and effective. - Process Documentation and Training:
Outlined, designed, and reviewed over 200 pages of comprehensive documentation for all tasks associated with the work review process. This documentation served as a critical resource for training new hires, providing clear and detailed instructions. As the project matured, I successfully transitioned the documentation responsibilities to an administrative team member, whom I trained and mentored to maintain the same high standard of quality. - Project Management and Handoff:
As the first project manager, I led the project from its initial stages, overseeing all aspects from database development to process optimization. After establishing a solid foundation and achieving key milestones, I trained a successor to take over the project, ensuring a smooth transition and the continued success of the work review system. As Sr. Project Manager and Director of Process Improvement I continued to innovate and improve the project.
